My favorite athlete was and always will be Ernie Banks. Why? Because he played during a time in my life when I formed who my heroes would be, and who better then a Hall of Famer who was named MVP twice, hit more than 500 home runs and played for a team that still hasn't won a championship over the last 105 years? And yet he never was thrown out of a game and played everyday with the joy of a little leaguer. As he famously always said, "Let's play two today." With you Ernie, anytime.

All that, and he still knows he will never see the Cubs win a World Series.
